(3) Do you have a deadline for completion of your project? If your dreams exceed your funds at the moment –break the project into parts and do over time.
(4) Do you have furniture or accessories that you might want to keep? Scale, color, value and style of these things affect the design plan. Using things you already own can save dollars but they must be considered while the plan is being developed.
(5) Collect photos of rooms from magazines that interest you.Do you like the colors, the style, the mood? Your Interior Decorator needs to consider many things to develop a workable plan for you. Pulling everything together is the reason you are hiring the Interior Decorator!
(6) Be prepared to tell the Interior Decorator how you and your family use the rooms you plan to decorate. What are the most important functions? What percentage in time would you assign to each of these functions?
(7) If you have given thought to all these points, you will save time for yourself and the Interior Decorator. You may save money as well – some parts of your Interior Design formation may be charged by the hour. |
